So how long can I go between blog posts before it just doesn't really matter anymore!?! Of course there are million excuses why not to post anything. I won't bore you with my lame excuses. But honestly, a lot of it has to do with simply not knowing what direction I want to take my blog. Is this about my business? Is this instructional? Is this supposed to only be about photography?
My guess is, none of this really matters since I can count on one hand the number of people who have actually read this blog...or visited this website. So this frees me up to do whatever the hell I want, at least for the time being.
So what am I going to blog about...good question!
My Summer Vacation Photo Project!!!
Personal projects are vital for any photographer. It doesn't matter what it is, it's really about forcing you to go out and shoot even when you don't particularly want to. It can also be a great tool for creating content whether it be for your portfolio or (cough, cough) your blog, or whatever. At the very least, they can be fun and can challenge you to become a better photographer.
The project of chosen is mostly about having fun. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel or do anything deep and artsy, it's really just about shooting and stretching out those creative muscles a little. In a few weeks, I'm taking a vacation from the day job to spend some time with the family. I will have 12 consecutive days off so my goal is to shoot 12 rolls of film in 12 days. 1 roll per day, no more, no less. Now of course I'll still shoot with my digital cameras if I want to, but for the sake of the project I have to shoot a roll of film as well.
There's one more twist though. I have to print out at least one frame from each roll and write about it! So stay tuned for more on my summer project. At the very least, I'm going to have fun doing it!
